About the Opportunity

A mission-driven nonprofit organization in Boston is seeking an Alumni Coordinator to help launch and develop a brand-new Alumni Engagement program. This is a unique opportunity to be the first hire dedicated to building an alumni network from the ground up—shaping the community, programming, and outreach strategies that will connect and empower alumni for years to come.

The organization works to promote educational equity and cross-community collaboration, with a strong focus on supporting diverse students and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to engage and mobilize alumni into an active community.
• Manage all aspects of alumni communications, including newsletters, updates, and event invitations.
• Plan and execute alumni events and programming, both in-person and virtual.
• Support and coordinate mentorship program communications between alumni and current participants.
• Maintain and update databases for alumni outreach and event management.
• Conduct alumni spotlights and storytelling initiatives to highlight successes.
• Gather and analyze alumni feedback to enhance engagement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

• 2–5 years of experience in community building, event planning, or project management—preferably in the nonprofit or education sector.
• A motivated self-starter who thrives in a collaborative and evolving environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for connecting people.
• (Preferred) Experience as an alumnus/alumna of a similar educational or community program.

Additional Details

• Reporting directly to the CEO.
